  1. We have a small space I’ve been meaning to build a veg path on. But, having dogs this hasn’t been possible. I have therefore been planning to build raised beds for some time. Thanks for the inspiration!

Excellent, I’m glad I’ve provided some inspiration. Must admit it’s led me to think of other projects I can do. Thanks for commenting.

  2. I am a wheelchair user, so hopefully when I show this to my husband, he will construct a few for me #thatfridaylinky@_karendennis

Excellent informative post it has really inspired me to do something in the garden Thank you for linking to #Thatfridaylinky please come back next week

  4. Looks good. Good decision not to waste money on a kit. No point wasting money when you can have something doing the same job and to the measurements you want.

Thanks, yes, very glad I didn’t buy a kit it was so much nicer doing it fully DIY. Thanks for commenting.

How nice to have helpers and then create such a wonderful gift for your wife (and at half the cost). Excited to see what you grow in there now :0). #mygloriousgardens

Thanks for sharing this step by step! Your raised beds have turned out great.
I’ve been thinking about suggesting raised beds to my Dad for his garden. He has a big garden, and used to love gardening years ago. He’s not as mobile now, and I think raised beds would be easier to manage in terms of height and weeding.
I had also seen the kits and wondered if DIY would be a better option. I think I’d be the one doing the DIYing though haha!
Thanks for all your advice, I’ve got a lot to think about beofre suggesting it to my Dad.

    Oh these look great!
I used old decking boards for our vegetable beds and I did treat them. I think using decking boards is a great idea as at least they are uniform in size. Ours are not but you don’t notice them now.
Good luck with your growing! What have you got in there now?

Thanks so much. I’m already very pleased with them. We have a mix of carrots, kale, broccoli and leeks in one. A pumpkin in the next and potatoes in the third. The latter are going great guns. So pleased with them!

These look wonderful! If I had space I would have my husband build raised beds! I just started growing some veggies and need to soon start transplanting them into pots. I hope your veggies turn out great for you. Thank you for sharing on the August #MyGloriousGardens link party!
