The Versatile Blogger Award
OK here goes. I was trying to avoid this, but I guess I can’t get away with it now that two of my lovely blogging friends have nominated me. Actually, I am really pleased to have been nominated as it shows that people out there have noticed me and, hopefully, have enjoyed what I write about. So thank you threetimedaddy.co.uk and nippersnips.com.
Right, it goes something like this; I get nominated and I have to write 7 “interesting” facts about myself (hmmm) then nominate 15 others to do the same. Hopefully they won’t unfollow me for it, haha.
I have a degree in Geology and one of my earliest jobs was working on oil rigs, not in the North Sea, but in Algeria. I did 4 months stationed somewhere in the Sahara, it was HOT (50c), BORING and I didn’t do the job for very long (6 months to be precise). BUT for 20 years has given me a great dinner party conversation topic and my wife loves it when I start a sentence “when I worked on the rigs”.
It’s a far cry from the slightly camp accountant I became!
Don’t call me a MAMIL
I love bikes, cycling and racing. In the 80s I raced BMX, my dream bike was a Mongoose Supergoose pro. I never owned one sadly. I think you’ll agree it is a thing of beauty even today:
I then moved to the road and focussed my sights on the Tour de France, well maybe not, but I did enjoy racing bikes. And I would have gotten away with it if it wasn’t for you pesky kids! Four lovely bikes are currently sat in the shed gathering dust, one day……
I have ginger hair
My love of biscuits knows no bounds. That’s why we never have any in the house, I can go through a whole pack with a single cup of tea, yum! Fortunately having two small children keeps me moving and the weight off. The top 5 best biscuits:
- Original Tim Tam (I can easily drink a whole cuppa through these bad boys)
- Milk Chocolate Digestive
- Milk Chocolate Hobnob
- Fox’s Milk Chocolate Viennese
I think you agree when it comes to forklift trucks, you’ll want to buy one of this guy (This was where I used to work, I was roped into this after they wanted someone who was tall):
I love baking
I bake the best chocolate brownies, bar none, well I am going on feedback from my colleagues, they could be biased. You might have guessed from this post I have a bit of a sweet tooth.
I’m a bit of a plane spotter
Please keep following me. 15 years working for an airline and having a Dad who was an Air Traffic Controller has rubbed off on me a bit.
That’s all about me then.
So it’s quite difficult to find 15 other great bloggers to nominate, as quite a few I know have done this before, I’ve only managed 8 (feel free to ignore this guys).
